More Photos from our work in Chan Chen

Kids were literally coming out of the bushes last Sat. in Chan Chen. As I was walking around the village I met a 84 year old lady. She was unable to walk she said that she had broke her leg 9 years ago but at the time she did not have money to make the trip to see a doctor. Our doctors said it was to late now to do much for this lady's leg but this should never happen again. She only needed $50. that the time of the accident and she would be walking today. We can do this! We can make life better in the future for the 3500 people living in the small village but having an on going medical presence in the village.

My heart was broken for this lady who could not walk but I as thought about the great needs in the village it hit me unless something changes over 99.5% of the people will never have a relationship with the living God. We also must have and on going Christian presence in this village.

Pray for the small village and our church in Paamul.

Mission Trip to the Mayan village of Chan Chen

We are praising to Lord for the great numbers of people that went out from our church in Paamul both English and Spanish speakers and at least one that spoke Mayan made the trip. We had 38 of us make the 2 hour trip out to the village to show Christ love in action. The needs are great in this village. There are about 3500 people living in the village and they have little or no Evangelical work in the area. Most of the men have had to leave the village to find work in the tourist zones of Cancun and Playa Del Carmen. Our three doctors saw over 100 patents and our two dentist pulled many teeth.... as we try to meet the needs of the people living in this village. Communication was difficult as most do not speak much Spanish and I have about three words in Mayan.

We handed out small toys to about 300 kids and we also distributed a van load of used clothing .

You can see from the pictures below that it was a great day Saturday in Chan Chen .

On a personal note please continue to pray for my family. My Mom and Dad are both still in the recovery stage. Pray also for our daughter Brittany she is feeling a little burn out with school and she needs God's wisdom at this time.

Also pray for our church here in Playa. We sent out 38 missionaries this weekend and I am so proud of church members in Paamul. In the last couple of weeks we have lost a few families on the English side but God has brought us many new families and attendance in Spanish and English has been up. We are excited as we are seeing God change lives. We are thanking God for the mission heart of our church here. Our next trip to this village will be in March. This coming summer we plan to rent a house in the village and send missionaries to the area to live and work among the people there.

Back online

We are back up and running. We are about 85% moved into the new place. We still do not have running water in the new house, well the truth is we have running water we just don't have a septic system yet. While digging the septic tank they hit underground water and they have not been able to seal the tank yet. We got the important stuff up and going, INTERNET, TV and A/C.

We launched another small group on the Spanish side of our church tonight. The group is meeting at Jamie's home in the northern part of Playa Del Carmen

I had the honor of baptizing Jamie back in Oct. now he is leading a small group and is bringing about 15 to 20 people to church each Sunday in our church van. Please pray for this family as they are serving to Lord in Playa Del Carmen.
